Their opening game at Toronto’s Lamport Stadium will be against Oxford RLFC later in the season on Saturday 6th May.
Paul Britton, Thames Valley Chamber of Commerce Chief Executive, and well known rugby champion, commented “the introduction of Toronto Wolfpack into rugby league is tremendous. The extension of the league to a transatlantic’ footing is great for the game, the supporters and the future of rugby league globally.” (especially as North America is set to host the rugby league world cup in 2025). Paul continues, “Canada is a proven trading partner for the UK and, especially, businesses here in the Thames Valley. We continue to be a location of choice for many Canada inward investors. We include the likes of Opentext; Blackberry and Maximizer Software, ACL Services and APG-Neuros as most recent Canadian investors into the Thames Valley. We trust Wolfpack’s presence will only go to strengthen the special transatlantic relationship with share with Canada here in the Thames Valley” with increase trade and export flows. On behalf of many, our very best to the team for the forthcoming season.”
