The University’s specialised areas of academic expertise and world-class research centres include:


  • Advanced Vehicle Engineering Centre – focusing on the development, application and evaluation of advanced vehicle technologies to help make vehicles more capable, lighter, greener and efficient. The Centre has provided research, development, education and training for the automotive and agricultural engineering sectors for more than 50 years and the motorsport sector for over 15 years.

  • Weapons and Vehicle Systems Group – combines world-renowned expertise, research and consultancy services on myriad vehicle and weapon technologies from individual elements to highly complex military systems.
