Achieving university status in 2007, Bucks New University celebrated its 125th Anniversary in 2017.
The University offers courses linked to the creative and cultural industries, the management and information management sectors, psychology and social policy, and the public sector. It has several non-profit research centres and institutes and is proud of its long-standing partnerships with industry, the public sector and charitable organisations. These include Thames Valley Police, several NHS Trusts and Sennheiser, the audio specialists.
Its research and innovation expertise is recognised via the 2014 Research Excellence Framework assessment and its record of successful bids to UK and international funders.
A partnership between the University and Aylesbury College, this is a purpose-built campus providing degree-level courses and professional development programmes.
Currently in the process of creating a new centre to support start-up businesses in the digital sector, the Campus will host a space where enterprises will be able to get advice, support and space to help them grow and thrive. Facilities at the Digital Innovation Hub will include a cyber-security suite and a virtual reality engineering design studio, designed to raise the skill levels of employees and inspire the region’s young people to consider careers in STEM subjects.
