New research at Start-up Cities Index: The UK’s top cities to start a business (startups.co.uk) has crowned Oxford the greenest city in the UK.
The city boasts the highest number of parks within a 1000 metre radius, with an average of 8.2, as well as an average garden size of over 200msq. Additionally, a local park or playing field at most 276 metres away wherever you are in Oxford, making its rural areas some of the most accessible in the UK.
These factors make Oxford an attractive location for businesses and employers looking to embrace the importance of wellness at work and the economic benefits of a nature-filled environment, as well as those committed to sustainability. The city also has relatively low property costs, with houses averaging less than £125,000.
