Africa-UK Investment Summit
In January 2020, the UK-Africa Investment Summit took place in London. The summit brought together businesses, governments and international institutions to showcases and promoted the breadth and quality of investment opportunities across Africa.
The summit strengthened the UK’s partnership with African nations to build a secure and prosperous future. As home to some of the world’s most enterprising technologies and the financial centre of the world in the City of London, the UK is perfectly placed to be the continent’s investment partner of choice.
Africa’s economic potential is huge, with eight of the world’s 15 fastest growing economies and a population set to double to over 2 billion by 2050. We have much to offer African nations – UK aid is tackling climate change and supporting women entrepreneurs, our tech and digital expertise is helping Africa grow new industries and the City of London is channelling billions of private investment into Africa, boosting jobs and growth. This Summit is a major 
step in unlocking the UK’s unique offer, becoming Africa’s investment partner of choice and benefiting people and businesses across the UK and Africa.

UK-Nigeria Economic and Development Forum 2022
On Monday 28 November 2022, the Honourable Minister of Industry, Trade, and Investment of Nigeria and the United Kingdom’s Trade Envoy to Nigeria help, in person, the eighth meeting of the Economic Development Forum (EDF).
The UK and Nigeria confirmed strategic importance of maintaining bilateral economic relations.

The South African Chamber of Commerce
South African businesses are strongly embedded in the UK; their own Chamber of Commerce is based in the country and holds an annual Business Awards event.
The SA Chamber of Commerce is an umbrella organisation and conduit for trade, community and investment into and out of South Africa. The SACC aims to bring under one concerted effort, a forum and meeting point for businesses who have an interest in both the UK and South Africa in an attempt to facilitate the development of business opportunities.
Examples of South African companies in the Thames Valley include Johannesburg-based Bidfood (formerly part of Bidvest). Its state-of-the-art Business Support Centre and depot on the Slough Trading Estate were opened in August 2016 to provide increased capacity for growth, create additional opportunities for employment in the local area, and improve the level of service the company offers its customers.
