Blenheim Palace
Home to the 11th Duke and Duchess of Marlborough, the Palace was a gift from Queen Anne and a grateful nation to John Churchill following his famous victory at the Battle of Blenheim in 1704. Situated in Woodstock, just 8 miles from Oxford, it is surrounded by over 2,000 acres of ‘Capability’ Brown landscaped parkland and formal gardens, which contributes tremendously to the economy.
The River Thames
There’s a lot more to the River Thames than London. From its source near the Cotswolds to Teddington lock, the River Thames is the perfect place to go boating, walking or fishing. Why not relax and meet with friends at one of the many pubs and restaurants along the River Thames. The river passes through the major landmarks of the region including Windsor, Maidenhead, Marlow, Henley, Reading and Oxford.

Oxfordshire is ideal for walking – hilly enough to give attractive views, with flatter river-valley walks too.
