Barclays Eagle Labs launches at the Wood Centre for Innovation

09:52 26 October in Digital Technology, Life Sciences & Healthcare, Oxfordshire, Talent and Innovation

Barclays hosted a weeklong online launch event, starting with Entrepreneurs in Oxford: how to scale and succeed and ending with a Fireside chat with Spintex Engineering, to celebrate its new lab launch. The new Oxford base Barclays Eagle Lab joins twenty-four others which aid near 2,000 entrepreneurs to grow businesses in areas they both live and work in.

Oxford’s new lab focuses on science and technology start-ups to support scientists that spin out new ideas, university graduates and entrepreneurs. It aims to focus on industries of the future with five local businesses having already signed up to utilise the new space.

The lab offers co-working space, allowing entrepreneurs to work side by side. Additionally, it offers hot desks, funding opportunities and on-site business support – mentoring connections, technical expertise such as Barclays local business banking team and more – to maximise early growth and business development.

“Being based at The Oxford Trust’s innovation centre in Headington is a great fit due to its location, beautiful new building and curated community. Our new space is now fit for purpose and to celebrate our official opening, we are hosting an exciting line-up of online events which we hope will resonate with science, tech start-ups and entrepreneurs.”

Nicki Campling, on-site ecosystem manager, Barclays Eagle Lab Oxford

“We are really pleased to see Barclays Eagle Labs Oxford officially launch at The Wood Centre for Innovation. With the focus on early stage science and tech entrepreneurs, it is a great partnership for the Trust and will further help our mission to encourage the pursuit of enterprise by enabling us to further support innovative businesses in the Oxford area.”
