Just over 6 months after setting up its first UK office in Maidenhead, French data transformation firm talend has backed the Thames Valley’s credentials as the number one choice of foreign hi-tech companies looking for a base in the UK.
Speaking to BBC Radio Berkshire, Martin James, UK Sales Director, says the Thames Valley “has long been accepted as a centre of expertise for the IT industry.”
Shaun Whittaker, CEO TVEP, said, “We’re delighted to hear that talend is pleased with its investment. The Thames Valley industry base is 75% composed of firms in the IT or electronics sectors, so we do have an ideal environment for them.”
Mr Whittaker added the Thames Valley attracted 40 new firms last year. “I think the figures speak for themselves, really.”
Mr James says apart from the region’s valuable and mature skills base, good transport facilities - including the M4, M40 and access to Heathrow - helped him persuade company executives in France that the Thames Valley was the ideal location to set up in the UK. |
