AliveCor Named No.1 AI Company in Fast Company’s 2018 Most Innovative Companies Ranking

Medtech leader AliveCor, whose European operation is in Slough, Berkshire, has been named the number one Most Innovative Company in Artificial Intelligence by Fast Company in its annual ranking.

The business also ranked 20th overall in an evaluation of thousands of companies worldwide in its Top 50 Most Innovative Companies in the World. Fast Company is the world’s leading progressive business media brand, with a unique editorial focus on innovation in technology, leadership, and design.

Using artificial intelligence, cloud, and micro-electrode technology to advance the state of the art in cardiac care, the company empowers people worldwide to proactively manage heart health and to vastly improve the quality of care in the fight against heart disease. Its KardiaMobile and KardiaBand products enable care teams and their patients to easily, quickly and inexpensively detect and manage abnormal heart rhythms.

“This recognition of AliveCor as the leader in artificial intelligence validates our leadership in the collection and analysis of patient generated data to help patients and providers assess and manage heart conditions more conveniently, more quickly, and less expensively than ever before,” said Vic Gundotra, CEO of AliveCor.

Francis White, VP Sales & Business Development, Alivecor Slough added: “We are privileged to be bringing forward this new era of Digital Health”

Commenting on their European business, he said: “We are delighted to be partnering with the NHS Innovation Accelerator and building out our European business from our base in the Thames Valley – the premier location for talent and communications within the UK Life Sciences golden triangle”

In 2017, Fast Company’s number one ranking in Artificial Intelligence went to Google.

We work alongside the Department for International Trade (DIT), the region’s Local Enterprise Partnerships (LEPs), Local Authorities and professional service providers to support foreign direct investment (FDI) into the Thames Valley.

For the 2017/18 financial year, we are proud to report that the Thames Valley has retained its status as the number one region in the UK, outside of London, for attracting FDI. 191 FDI projects were recorded as entering the region, with a high proportion of these investors strongly supported by the Chamber.
